Beyond FTP Security Program

The Security Program provides control over the access to local drives and directories that is granted to remote Beyond FTP users.  Beyond FTP services operate under the auspices of the local machine’s system security.  These services can access only those resources allowed by the local logon (in the case of NT, the services logon).  Remote access to this domain of resources is then controlled by the Beyond FTP security settings created and maintained using this program.  This additional layer of security provides consistency across all platforms, and greater flexibility than the security implemented on some Windows systems.

 

The home window consists of the User and Group Display Window and the Drive and Directory Display Window.  It may also contain the separate Access Rights Palette.  This display of the Rights Palette depends on the setting of the Rights Palette Toggle.
