Cache Expiration Options

Reference:        Cache Options
                        Script Editor Cache Options

These selections allow you to turn caching on and off, and to control the manner in which the cache is expired.  The cache simply stores the results of File Viewer Window or File Action List displays, improving the speed of subsequent access to this information.  However, it also means that the file and directory displays can become dated.  The cache is automatically refreshed when create and delete actions are performed.  It can also be reloaded for all or part of a directory tree. The current status of the cache appears on the status bar.

Note:  Caching is applied only to remote Beyond FTP and FTP servers, and then only  when there are no File Filter Criteria engaged.  Local file system operations and filtered remote operations are never cached.
