Creating a New Script

A new script is created using the Script Editor.  This is the approach taken in the tutorial.  The sample script in the tutorial includes the basic commands you will need to get started.

Script creation is made easier by Script Templates.  These are script fragments that can be inserted into any script to accomplish specific tasks.  Templates are automatically tailored as they are inserted.  Information that is specific to a particular installation is retrieved automatically as the template is processed.  The result will be a working portion of a script.

There is also a dialog that allows you to create file actions using the GUI features of Beyond FTP.  The Insert File Actions dialogue has two address book windows that allow you to easily perform drag-and-drop transfers, renames, and deletes.  The actions are not performed immediately, but are inserted directly into the script in command form.
