Encryption Store Key

Reference:        Add Encryption Key Dialog

Clicking this button stores the key associated with the server.  This is stored as the primary key.  You will be asked if you wish to replace the current primary key, or move it to a secondary status.  Up to four secondary keys may be saved.

Note:  Be sure to inform other users of this change.  Once the secondary keys expire, all remote users must have the newest primary key.  This is managed automatically by Beyond FTP in a key server/client environment.

There is an additional danger when changing keys that have been used to create archive files either through Beyond FTP scripts or the Beyond Encryption product.  As expired keys are removed and/or secondary keys are lost, the files in an archive may become irretrievable.

Warning:  Be sure to keep your archives up-to-date as keys change!  The only way to retrieve information once the key is lost is to know the EXACT pass phrase used to generate the key!  Know your pass phrases!
