Reference: Beyond FTP Private Key Management
Each Beyond FTP installation must have address book entries for the remote servers with which it will communicate. Each site must also be assigned a key phrase. If you elect to use a single key phrase for all sites, only This Computer must be assigned a private key. If you elect to use different keys, you must make assignments for each server in the address book that will support encryption.
For example, suppose there are two Beyond FTP sites: Boston and Chicago. You might assign key phrases as follows:
At
Boston:
This
Computer
Now is the time for all good
men
Chicago
The quick brown fox jumped
At
Chicago:
This
Computer
The quick brown fox
jumped
Boston
Now is the time for all good men
When Boston calls Chicago, Boston sends all data encrypted with the key from the Chicago address book entry. Chicago sends all data to Boston using the This Computer entry.
See Setting Up Encryption Services for step-by-step instructions on generating keys.
